In the heart of NY state, Jaqueesha "Onesty" Whitaker was born into the musical spotlight. Growing up, she was exposed to a plethora of music genres including; gospel, rap, classical, afrobeat, opera and even rock. But Onesty truly fell in love with Neo-soul. Artists with music that told a story, like Tupac, Jill Scott, Whitney Houston, Lecare, Mali Music, and Sounds of Blackness (to name a few), heavily influenced her style of music. Music has always been in her blood. An addition to singing, Onesty is also known for playing various instruments, as well as dancing her heart out to freestyle and choreographed routines. But her passion for singing is first and foremost, her 1st love. Which has lead her to many unique opportunities over the past few years, like opening for renowned speaker/singer/songwriter Bishop Paul S. Morton, performing at the Great NYS fair with other stellar award winners, won two 1st-place NAACP ACT-SO awards, and had been performing public and private events ever since. Now, Onesty is working on a new project called "Today" which will feature music that will inspire while showing you the power music holds.
